The bottleneck

The skill is there. Finding it again is the hard part.

  1. Documentation duty with a ten-year memory

    A test report under DIN VDE 0100-600 must be kept for ten years from the last modification. The EU Machinery Regulation 2023/1230, binding from January 2027, requires technical documentation including risk analyses, drawings and software logic, also for ten years. Keeping it is the easy part. Finding it is the problem.

  2. Periodic inspection without as-built documentation

    DIN VDE 0105-100 requires the periodic inspection to reference the necessary schematics and technical documentation. If the current plan revision can’t be found within minutes, one costed inspection day turns into an inspection day plus a search day.

  3. Every grid operator with its own rulebook

    VDE-AR-N 4105 or 4110, plant certificate B, NELEV declaration of conformity, the E.1 to E.8 form chain. Every distribution grid operator has its own connection conditions, form versions and submission channels, plus registration in the Marktstammdatenregister, Germany’s core energy market register, within one month of commissioning.

  4. Experience that’s retiring

    Replacement demand from retirement is rising to around 13,000 electrical engineers per year. The same team carries more projects, while the people who know why a plant built in 2014 was wired exactly the way it was are leaving.

Technically closed

The DSK’s guidance on AI and data protection states that technically closed systems are preferable from a data-protection perspective: in open systems, the input data leaves the users’ protected environment. With LOKI it doesn’t.

Where they technically work

Inside a language model itself there is no way to control who may see which information; the supervisory authorities state this explicitly. In the knowledge system in front of it, tenant separation and role-based access do work. That’s why LOKI is built this way. And that’s why individual entries can be deleted deliberately instead of disappearing into a model.

Regulation

EU Machinery Regulation, the NIS2 supply chain and customer NDAs

The EU Machinery Regulation 2023/1230 requires documented software and AI aspects in the technical documentation from January 2027. If you supply municipal utilities, grid operators or critical-infrastructure (KRITIS) industry, you inherit their NIS2 supply-chain requirements. A stack that runs entirely on your premises is a one-line answer in the supplier questionnaire instead of an essay of justification.

The regulators call this a mitigating measure, not a blanket solution, and name open questions around transparency and data-subject rights. We put it exactly the same way.

Can LOKI read our EPLAN projects?

We open up the relevant content: parts lists, equipment identifiers, terminal and cable lists, plus the plan PDFs including their metadata. The ambition is answering the question "In which project did we solve this that way again?" in seconds; EPLAN itself stays in charge. What is concretely possible in your landscape, we clarify before the installation.

Our old test reports are scanned PDFs. Useless?

No. Scanned documents are processed with text recognition. With handwritten entries the hit rate drops. We tell you that up front instead of promising otherwise.

We have customers with strict NDAs. Is that a problem?

That is the reason LOKI exists. There is no upload and no third-country transfer. The optional remote maintenance for support and updates can be switched off at any time; LOKI needs no internet to operate.

What if LOKI makes something up?

LOKI answers based on sources and names the document for every statement. For sensitive actions the rule is: a human confirms before anything happens. And every tool call is logged.

How is it licensed?

A fixed monthly price plus a one-time setup fee that includes the server hardware. The license covers unlimited users. There are three packages that differ in hardware sizing. Operation, maintenance, updates and support are included. We’ll give you the specific price in the intro call.
